✧ Encouragement to Marry a Woman of Religion and the Envy of One Who Has a Believing Wife

قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ وَيَحْيَى بْنِ جَعْدَةَ قَالَا:

« تُنْكَحُ الْمَرْأَةُ لِأَرْبَعٍ: لِجِمَالِهَا، وَمَالِهَا، وَحَسَبِهَا، وَدِينِهَا ; فَعَلَيْكَ بِذَاتِ الدِّينِ وَالْخُلُقِ، تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ

Translation

✧ A woman is married for four things: for her beauty, her wealth, her lineage, and her religion. So win the one with religion and character, may your hands be rubbed with dust.
