✧ "O Bedouin, lust and hunger?" He said: That is it. He ﷺ said: "Go, and the first woman you meet who has no husband, she is your wife." The Bedouin said: I entered the palm grove of Banu al-Najjar, and there was a young woman picking dates into a basket. I said to her: O owner of the basket, do you have a husband? She said: No. He said: Come down, for the Messenger of God ﷺ has married you to me. He said: She came down, and I went with her to her house. She said to her father: This Bedouin came to me while I was picking dates into the basket, and he asked me: Do you have a husband? I said: No. He said: Come down, for the Messenger of God ﷺ has married you to me. The girl's father came out to the Bedouin, and the Bedouin said: What is the owner of the basket to you? He said: My daughter. He said: Does she have a husband? He said: No. He said: The Messenger of God ﷺ has married her to me. The girl and her father went to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and he informed him. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Does she have a husband?" He said: No. He ﷺ said: "Go, prepare her trousseau well, then send her to him." The girl's father went and prepared his daughter, and took good care of her, then sent with her dates and milk. She brought them to the Bedouin's house, and the Bedouin returned to his house. He saw a well-adorned young woman, and he saw dates and milk, so he stood up to pray. When dawn broke, he went early to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the girl's father went early to his daughter. She said: By God, he did not approach us, nor did he approach our dates or our milk! He said: The girl's father went to the Messenger of God ﷺ and informed him. He called the Bedouin and said: "O Bedouin, what prevented you from being intimate with your wife?" He said: O Messenger of God, I left you and entered the house, and there was a well-adorned young woman, and I saw dates and milk, so it was incumbent upon me to spend my night until morning in prayer—meaning out of gratitude. He ﷺ said: "O Bedouin, go and be intimate with your wife."
