✧ Clarification That Entering the House Is Not Obligatory

- قَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ:

دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ يَوْمًا، فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ صَنَعْتُ الْيَوْمَ شَيْئًا وَدِدْتُ أَنِّي لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ، دَخَلْتُ الْبَيْتَ، فَأَخْشَى أَنْ يَجِيءَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أُفُقٍ مِنَ الْآفَاقِ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُ دُخُولَهُ، فَيَرْجِعُ وَفِي نَفْسِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ

Translation

✧ The Prophet ﷺ came to me one day and said: Today I did something I wish I had not done. I entered the House, and I fear that a man from one of the horizons may come and not be able to enter it, and so he will turn back with something in his heart about it.
