وَقَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ شَبِيبِ بْنِ غَرْقَدَةَ، عَنْ حِبَّانَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ:
أَتَيْنَا عَلِيًّا ؓ وَهُوَ بِعَسْكَرِ أَبِي مُوسَى، فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَطْعَمُ، فَقَالَ: ادْنُ فَكُلْ، فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ. فَقَالَ: وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ الصِّيَامَ، فَأَكَلَ حَتَّى إِذَا فَرَغَ قَالَ لِمُؤَذِّنِهِ ابْنِ النَّبَّاحِ: أَقِمْ
Translation

✧ We came to Ali ؓ while he was at the camp of Abu Musa, and I found him eating. He said: “Come close and eat.” I said: “I intend to fast.” He said: “And I intend to fast.” Then he ate until when he finished, he said to his muezzin Ibn al-Nabbah: “Give the iqamah.”
