✧ The Command to Satisfy the Charity Collector and That the Giver Is Absolved of What Is Due When He Gives It to Him

قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ -:

يَأْتِيكُمْ رَكْبٌ مُبَغَّضُونَ، فَإِذَا جَاؤُوكُمْ فَرَحِّبُوا بِهِمْ، وَخَلُّوا بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ مَا يَبْغُونَ، فَإِنْ عَدَلُوا فَلِأَنْفُسِهِمْ، وَإِنْ ظَلَمُوا فَعَلَيْهِمْ، وَأَرْضُوهُمْ، فَإِنَّ تَمَامَ زَكَاتِكُمْ رِضَاهُمْ، وَلْيَدْعُوا لَكُمْ

Translation

✧ A despised caravan will come to you. When they come, welcome them and leave them to what they seek. If they act justly, it is for themselves; if they wrong, it is upon them. Satisfy them, for the completion of your zakat is their satisfaction, and let them pray for you.
