✧ This is a document that the Messenger of God ﷺ wrote for Amr b. Hazm regarding the obligatory dues of camels and sheep: For sheep, when they reach forty, one sheep; until they reach one hundred and twenty. If they exceed one hundred and twenty, then two sheep; until they reach two hundred. If they exceed two hundred, then three sheep; until they reach three hundred. If they exceed three hundred and are more than that, one sheep is counted for every hundred. For camels: in twenty-five, a bint makhad (a one-year-old female camel); if not found, then an ibn labun (a two-year-old male camel). When they reach thirty-six, then a bint labun (a two-year-old female camel). When they reach forty-six, then a hiqqah (a three-year-old female camel); until they reach sixty. Then a jadha'ah (a four-year-old female camel); until they reach seventy-five. Then two bint labun; until they reach ninety. If they exceed, then two hiqqah; up to one hundred and twenty. Then it returns to being counted from the first obligatory due of camels, a sheep; until they reach one hundred and twenty. If they are numerous, then in every fifty a hiqqah.
