عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ،
أَنَّ أَبَا بَكْرِ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، كَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ بِكِتَابٍ فِي الصَّدَقَةِ نَسَخَهُ لَهُ - زَعَمَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ - مِنْ صَحِيفَةٍ، وَجَدَهَا مَرْبُوطَةً بِقِرَابِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ: فِي أَرْبَعٍ وَعِشْرِينَ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فَدُونَهَا مِنَ الْإِبِلِ فِي كُلِّ خَمْسٍ شَاةٌ، وَفِيمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ إِلَى خَمْسَةٍ وَثَلَاثِينَ ابْنَةُ مَخَاضٍ، فَإِنْ لَمْ تَكُنْ بِنْتُ مَخَاضٍ فَابْنُ لَبُونٍ ذَكَرٌ، وَفِيمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ
Translation
✧ Abū Bakr b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUbayd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb wrote to him a letter about charity, copying it for him – Abū Bakr claimed – from a page he found tied to the scabbard of ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb: For twenty-four camels and below, in every five camels one sheep [is due]. Above that up to thirty-five, a bint makhāḍ [is due]. If a bint makhāḍ is not available, then a male ibn labūn. And above that…
