✧ When Abu Bakr ؓ died, he was wept over. 'Umar ؓ said: 'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping of the living."' But they refused to stop weeping. 'Umar ؓ said to Hisham b. al-Walid: 'Stand up and expel the women.' 'A'ishah ؓ said: 'I adjure you!' 'Umar ؓ said: 'Enter, for I have permitted you.' He entered, and 'A'ishah ؓ said: 'Will you expel me, O my son?' He said: 'As for you, I have permitted you.' He began expelling them one by one, striking them with the whip. Umm Farwah came out, and he separated them, or he said: 'He separated the wailing women.'
