What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

  • al-Tirmidhi

machine translationThe hadith of Ḥafṣah is a hadith we do not know as raised to the Prophet (marfūʿ) except through this route. It has also been reported from Nāfiʿ, from Ibn ʿUmar, as his own statement, and that is more sound (aṣaḥḥ). Likewise this hadith has been reported from al-Zuhrī as a statement stopping at the Companion (mawqūf), and we do not know anyone who raised it to the Prophet except Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb.

    in موطأ مالك, p. 587
  • al-Bukhari

machine translationIt is an error, and it is a hadith with inconsistency (iḍṭirāb); the sound report from Ibn ʿUmar is a statement of the Companion himself (mawqūf).

    in موطأ مالك, p. 587
