machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it, and there is disagreement about him. Ibn ʿUyaynah, Yūnus b. Yazīd, Ibn Abī Dhiʾb, the nephew of al-Zuhrī, Maʿmar, al-Nuʿmān b. Rāshid, Sulaymān b. Kathīr, ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq, Abū Saʿīd al-Khuldī, Muḥammad b. Abī Ḥafṣah, Yazīd b. Abī Ḥabīb and others narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Ayyūb. There is disagreement about ʿUqayl b. Khālid: Salāmah b. Rawḥ and Rishdīn b. Saʿd narrated it from ʿUqayl, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Ayyūb. But al-Layth narrated it from ʿUqayl, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ, from Ubayy b. Kaʿb, and the correct version is from Abū Ayyūb. Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Yazīd b. Jāriyah al-Anṣārī, from Abū Ayyūb. It is also said, from Ibrāhīm b. Saʿd, from al-Zuhrī, from a man, from Abū Ayyūb. Ayyūb al-Sakhtiyānī narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from two men whom he did not name, from Abū Ayyūb. Nāfiʿ b. ʿUmar al-Jumaḥī narrated it as a mursal report from al-Zuhrī, from the Prophet ﷺ. The correct statement is that of Ibn ʿUyaynah and those who followed him.
