  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationAl-Dāraqutnī was asked about it and said: Ibn ʿUyaynah was alone in narrating it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd. Al-Dāraqutnī narrated it from Abū ʿUmar Muḥammad b. Yūsuf al-Qāḍī, from Ismāʿīl b. Isḥāq, from ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī, from Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah, and he mentioned it. ʿAlī b. al-Madīnī said: I said to Sufyān, when I came to this hadith, this hadith from ʿĪsā b. Ṭalḥah from his father, that it is with al-Thaqafī, from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, from Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm, from ʿĪsā b. Ṭalḥah, from ʿUmayr b. Salamah, from al-Bahzī. Sufyān said: I thought it was from Ṭalḥah, but I am not certain of it; as for the hadith, I have brought it to you. Al-Dāraqutnī said: The correct view according to us is that ʿUmayr b. Salamah narrated this hadith from the Prophet ﷺ, with no one between him and the Prophet ﷺ.

  • Dāraquṭnī

machine translationIt is a hadith in which Ibn ʿUyaynah was alone, narrating from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd, from Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm, from ʿĪsā b. Ṭalḥah, from Ṭalḥah, and he was mistaken in it. Others narrate it from Yaḥyā b. Saʿīd and trace it back to ʿUmayr b. Salamah al-Ḍamrī, from the Prophet ﷺ. Some of them said: from ʿUmayr b. Salamah, from a man of Bahz. The correct view is that of those who said ʿUmayr b. Salamah. Likewise it was narrated by Yazīd b. al-Hād, ʿAbd Rabbih b. Saʿīd and Yaḥyā b. Abī Kathīr, from Muḥammad b. Ibrāhīm.
