What scholars said about it

In their own words, as Hadith Unlocked records them. They are shown, not summarised into a grade.

machine translationThere is some criticism of its chain of transmission (isnād), for even though Muslim included Mujālid in his Ṣaḥīḥ, he only included him paired with another narrator. Ibn ʿAdī said: "Most of what he narrates is not preserved (ghayr maḥfūẓ)." As for ʿAbdullāh b. Ismāʿīl, Abū Ḥātim said of him, and al-Dhahabī in al-Kāshif: "unknown (majhūl)."

machine translationMālik permitted narrating hadith from them, because they are sound (ṣaḥīḥ) hadiths, and none of them was criticized.
