✧ He saw Abu Barzah al-Aslami praying while the rein of his mount was in his hand. When he bowed, the rein slipped from his hand and the animal started to move. Abu Barzah stepped back on his heels without turning around until he caught up with the animal, took it, then walked as he was and returned to the place where he had been praying, completed his prayer, and then said the salam. He said: 'I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in many expeditions'—until he counted several expeditions—'and I observed his concessions and his facilitation, and I acted accordingly. If I had left my mount until it reached the desert and then gone after it as an old man stumbling through the darkness, that would have been harder for me.'
