أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ قَالَ:

بَيْنَمَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ يُصَلِّي، فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ الَّذِي بَعْدَهُ فِي الْبَابِ الثَّانِي، غَيْرَ أَنَّهُ زَادَ فِيهِ: وَإِنِّي كُنْتُ نَهَيْتُهُ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَنْتَهِيَ قَالَ: وَمَرْوَانُ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ مَرْوَانُ لِأَبِي سَعِيدٍ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا مَرَّ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ أَحَدِكُمْ شَيْءٌ، وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي، فَلْيَمْنَعْهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ أَبَى فَلْيُقَاتِلْهُ، فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ شَيْطَانٌ

Translation

✧ While Abu Sa'id al-Khudri was praying on Friday, he mentioned the hadith like the hadith of Sulayman b. al-Mughirah, which comes after it in the second chapter, except that he added: "And I had forbidden him, but he refused to stop." He said: "Marwan was then governor of Madinah, so he complained to him. Marwan mentioned that to Abu Sa'id. Abu Sa'id said, 'The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "When something passes in front of one of you while he is praying, let him prevent it twice. If it refuses, let him fight it, for it is only a devil."'"
