✧ Abu Hurayrah fell ill—or was absent—so Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri led us in prayer. He said the takbir aloud when he began, and when he bowed, and when he said, “Allah hears the one who praises Him,” and when he raised his head from prostration, and when he prostrated, and when he raised, and when he stood up from the two rak‘ahs until he completed his prayer in that manner. It was said to him: “The people have differed about your prayer.” He came out and stood on the pulpit and said: “O people, by Allah, I do not care whether your prayers differ or not. This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ pray.”
