✧ Abu Hurayrah used to lead us in prayer and would say the takbir when he stood, and when he bowed, and when he intended to prostrate, and after rising from bowing, and when he intended to prostrate after rising from prostration, and when he sat, and when he intended to stand for the two rak‘ahs he said the takbir, and he would say the takbir likewise in the other two rak‘ahs. When he said the salam, he said: “By the One in whose hand is my soul, I am the closest of you in resemblance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ—meaning his prayer. This remained his prayer until he departed from this world.”
