machine translationI asked my father about a hadith narrated by ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq, from al-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd, from Abū Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet ﷺ said: "When the muʾadhdhin says it, then say the like of what he says." He said: A group narrated it, Mālik and others, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Saʿīd, from the Prophet ﷺ, and this is more likely.
machine translationIsḥāq b. Ibrāhīm al-Ḥunaynī narrated it from Mālik, from Zayd b. Aslam, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yasār, from Abū Saʿīd, but he erred in this regarding Mālik. The correct version is from Mālik, from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd al-Laythī, from Abū Saʿīd. Likewise the narrators of the Muwaṭṭaʾ and the memorizers (ḥuffāẓ) narrated it from Mālik, from al-Zuhrī. Likewise Yūnus and Maʿmar narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Saʿīd. ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. Isḥāq, who is ʿAbbād, contradicted them and narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from Saʿīd b. al-Musayyab, from Abū Hurayrah. Saʿīd is not sound in it, and the correct version is what we have mentioned.
machine translationThe correct version is: from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī.
machine translationThey narrated it from al-Zuhrī, from ʿAṭāʾ b. Yazīd, from Abū Saʿīd, and this is the sound (ṣaḥīḥ) version.
