✧ Sa'i between Safa and Marwa is obligatory, whether running or walking

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ السُّلَمِيِّ قَالَ:
رَأَيْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ يَمْشِي فِي الْمَسْعَى، [قَالَ: ]: فَقُلْتُ لَهُ: تَمْشِي فِي الْمَسْعَى بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ: لَئِنْ سَعَيْتُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْعَى، وَلَئِنْ مَشَيْتُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي، وَأَنَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
Translation

✧ I saw Ibn 'Umar walking in the course. [He said:] I said to him: You walk in the course between Safa and Marwa? He said: If I run, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ running, and if I walk, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walking, and I am an old man.
