✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: Peace be upon you, O young man of Banū ‘Abd al-Muṭṭalib. He said: “And upon you.” He said: I am a man from your maternal uncles, from Banū Sa‘d b. Bakr, and I am the messenger of my people to you and their delegate. I will ask you and press my asking, and I will adjure you and press my adjuration. He said: “Take it easy, O brother of Banū Sa‘d.” He said: Who created you? And who created those before you? And who is the creator of those after you? He said: “Allah.” He said: I adjure you by that—did He send you? He said: “Yes.” He said: We have found in your Book, and your messengers commanded us, that you take from the excess of our wealth and return it to our poor. I adjure you by that—did He command you to do that? He said: “Yes.”
