✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ seeking his help in a blood-money burden. He said: 'Stay with us, and either we will bear it on your behalf or we will help you in it. And know that begging is not lawful for anyone except for one of three: a man who bears a burden on behalf of a people and asks for it until he pays it, then withholds. A man who is struck by a calamity that destroys his wealth, so he asks until he obtains a sufficiency of livelihood, or a support of livelihood, then withholds. And a man struck by poverty, so that three people of understanding from his people, or of righteousness, testify that begging has become lawful for him; then he asks until he obtains a sufficiency of livelihood, or a support of livelihood, then withholds. Whatever asking is other than that, O Qabisah, is unlawful gain which its owner consumes unlawfully.'
