✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ appointed a man from al-Azd over the zakat of Banu Sulaym, called Ibn al-Lutbiyya. When he came, he audited him, and he said: This is your wealth, and this is a gift. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Then would that you sat in your father's house and your mother's house until your gift came to you, if you are truthful." Then he addressed us, praised and extolled God, then said: "Now then, I appoint a man among you to a task from what God has entrusted to me, and he comes and says: This is your wealth, and this is a gift to me. Would that he sat in his father's house and his mother's house until his gift came to him, if he is truthful. By God, none of you takes anything without his right except that he meets God carrying it on the Day of Resurrection. I shall recognize any of you who meets God carrying a camel that grumbles, or a cow that moos, or a sheep that bleats." Then he raised his hands until the whiteness of his armpits was seen, then said: "O God, have I conveyed? My eyes have seen and my ears have heard."
