✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed i'tikaf in the middle ten of Ramadan seeking Laylat al-Qadr before it became clear to him, then he ordered the building to be dismantled, and it was revealed to him that it was in the last ten, so he ordered it to be rebuilt. Then he came out to us and said: "Indeed, Laylat al-Qadr was revealed to me, and I came out to make it clear to you, but two men disputed and it was taken away from me, so seek it in the ninth, the seventh, and the fifth." He said: I said: O Abu Sa'id, you know better about counting than us, so which night is the ninth, the seventh, and the fifth? He said: Yes, and we have more right to that. When it is the twenty-first night, the one that follows it is the ninth, then skip a night, then the one that follows is the seventh, then skip a night, then the one that follows is the fifth. O Abu Sa'id, the one you call the twenty-fourth, the twenty-sixth, and the twenty-second.
