حَدَّثَنَا بِخَبَرِ مَعْمَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ: قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الرَّبِيعِ، عَنْ عِتْبَانَ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

أَتَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فَقُلْتُ: إِنِّي قَدْ أَنْكَرْتُ بَصَرِي، وَإِنَّ السُّيُولَ تَحُولُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَسْجِدِ قَوْمِي، وَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّكَ جِئْتَ وَصَلَّيْتَ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذُهُ مَسْجِدًا ! فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: " أَفْعَلُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ !

✧ I came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: 'I have noticed my eyesight is failing, and the floods come between me and the mosque of my people. I would like you to come and pray in a place in my house that I will take as a mosque.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'I will do so, God willing.'
