✧ I and 'Alqamah entered upon Ibn Mas'ud, and he said: Did these people pray behind you? We said: No. He said: Then get up and pray. We went to stand behind him, but he took us by the hands and placed one of us on his right and the other on his left, and he prayed without an adhan or an iqamah. When he bowed, he interlaced his fingers and placed them between his legs. When he finished praying, he said: This is how I saw the Messenger of God ﷺ do. Then he said: There will be rulers who kill the prayer, strangling it until the time of the death rattle of the dead. Whoever of you lives to see that should pray the prayer at its time, and let him make his prayer with them a supererogatory prayer.
