✧ He went on a military expedition with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the expedition of Tabuk. Al-Mughirah said: I came with him until we found that the people had put 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Awf forward, and he led them in prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ caught up with one of the two rak'ahs, so he prayed the final rak'ah with the people. When 'Abd al-Rahman gave the salutation, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to complete his prayer. That alarmed the Muslims, and they greatly glorified Allah. When the Prophet ﷺ finished his prayer, he turned to them and said: "You have done well" or "You have been correct," commending them for praying the prayer at its time.
