✧ I was with Ibn 'Umar on a journey, and he prayed Zuhr and 'Asr as two rak'ahs each. Then he went to a rug of his and saw some people praying voluntary prayers. He said: "What are these people doing?" I said: "They are praying voluntary prayers." He said: "If I were to pray before it or after it, I would have completed it. I accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he passed away, and he did not add more than two rak'ahs, and Abu Bakr, 'Umar, and 'Uthman likewise."
