The idols among the people of Noah
Translation
✧ [The idols among the people of Nūḥ] The people of Nūḥ had idols to which they devoted themselves. Allah, Blessed and Exalted, related their story to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said: "And they said, 'Do not abandon your gods, and do not abandon Wadd, nor Suwāʿ, nor Yaghūth, Yaʿūq, and Nasr.' And they have led many astray." [The tribes and their idols, and something about them] Those who adopted these idols from the descendants of Ismāʿīl and others, and named them after them when they abandoned the religion of Ismāʿīl, were: Hudhayl b. Mudrikah b. Ilyās b. Muḍar, who adopted Suwāʿ, and it was at Burhāṭ. And Kalb b. Wabrah, of Quḍāʿah, who adopted Wadd at Dūmat al-Jandal. Ibn Isḥāq said: Kaʿb b. Mālik al-Anṣārī said: "We will forget al-Lāt, al-ʿUzzā, and Wadd, and strip them of their necklaces and earrings." Ibn Hishām said: This verse is in a poem of his which I shall mention in its proper place, if Allah wills.
