Mention of the Quraysh captives on the day of Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ ما فات ابن اسحاق من أسرى أَسْرَى قُرَيْشٍ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَبْدِ الدَّارِ بْنِ قُصَيٍّ: عَقِيلٌ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ الْيَمَنِ. رَجُلٌ. [ مِنْ بَنِي تَمِيمٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي تَيْمِ بْنِ مُرَّةَ: مُسَافِعُ بْنُ عِيَاضِ بْنِ صَخْرِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ تَيْمٍ؛ وَجَابِرُ بْنُ الزَّبِيرِ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ. رَجُلَانِ. [ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومِ بْنِ يَقَظَةَ: قَيْسُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ. رَجُلٌ. [ مِنْ بَنِي جُمَحَ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي جُمَحَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو: عَمْرُو بْنُ أُبَيِّ بْنِ خَلَفٍ، وَأَبُو رُهْمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ؛ وَحَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ ذَهَبَ عَنِّي اسْمُهُ، وَمَوْلَيَانِ لِأُمَيَّةِ بْنِ خَلَفٍ، أَحَدُهُمَا نِسْطَاسٌ؛ وَأَبُو رَافِعٍ، غُلَامُ أُمَيَّةَ بْنِ خَلَفٍ. سِتَّةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مِنْ بَنِي سَهْمٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي سَهْمِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو: أَسْلَمَ، مَوْلَى نُبَيْهِ بْنِ الْحَجَّاجِ. رَجُلٌ. [ مِنْ بَنِي عَامِرٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي عَامِرِ بْنِ لُؤَيٍّ: حَبِيبُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ؛ وَالسَّائِبُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ. رَجُلَانِ. [ مِنْ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي الْحَارِثِ بْنِ فِهْرٍ: شَافِعُ وَشَفِيعٌ، حَلِيفَانِ لَهُمْ مِنْ أَرْضِ الْيَمَنِ. رَجُلَانِ
Translation
✧ [From the Banū ʿAbd al-Dār: those captives of Quraysh on the day of Badr whom Ibn Isḥāq missed] And from the Banū ʿAbd al-Dār b. Quṣayy: ʿAqīl, an ally of theirs from Yemen. One man. [From the Banū Tamīm] And from the Banū Taym b. Murrah: Musāfiʿ b. ʿIyāḍ b. Ṣakhr b. ʿĀmir b. Kaʿb b. Saʿd b. Taym; and Jābir b. al-Zubayr, an ally of theirs. Two men. [From the Banū Makhzūm] And from the Banū Makhzūm b. Yaqaẓah: Qays b. al-Sāʾib. One man. [From the Banū Jumaḥ] And from the Banū Jumaḥ b. ʿAmr: ʿAmr b. Ubayy b. Khalaf, and Abū Ruhm b. ʿAbd Allāh, an ally of theirs; and an ally of theirs whose name has escaped me, and two clients of Umayyah b. Khalaf, one of them Nisṭās; and Abū Rāfiʿ, the slave of Umayyah b. Khalaf. Six persons. [From the Banū Sahm] And from the Banū Sahm b. ʿAmr: Aslam, a client of Nubayh b. al-Ḥajjāj. One man. [From the Banū ʿĀmir] And from the Banū ʿĀmir b. Luʾayy: Ḥabīb b. Jābir; and al-Sāʾib b. Mālik. Two men. [From the Banū al-Ḥārith] And from the Banū al-Ḥārith b. Fihr: Shāfiʿ and Shafīʿ, two allies of theirs from the land of Yemen. Two men.
