Mention of the Quraysh captives on the day of Badr
[ مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ وَحُلَفَائِهِمْ أَسْرَى قُرَيْشٍ يَوْمَ بَدْرٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى بْنِ قُصَيٍّ: السَّائِبُ بْنُ أَبِي حُبَيْشِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَسَدٍ؛ وَالْحُوَيْرِثُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: هُوَ الْحَارِثُ بْنُ عَائِذِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَسَدٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَسَالِمُ بْنُ شَمَّاخٍ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ. ثَلَاثَةُ نَفَرٍ. [ مِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومٍ ] وَمِنْ بَنِي مَخْزُومِ بْنِ يَقَظَةَ بْنِ مُرَّةَ: خَالِدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ؛ وَأُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ وَالْوَلِيدُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ؛ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ؛ وَصَيْفِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ عَابِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ، وَأَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ بْنِ أَبِي رِفَاعَةَ بْنِ عَابِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ؛ وَأَبُو عَطَاءٍ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي السَّائِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ، وَالْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ حَنْطَبِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ مَخْزُومٍ، وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْأَعْلَمِ، حَلِيفٌ لَهُمْ، وَهُوَ كَانَ - فِيمَا يَذْكُرُونَ - أَوَّلُ مَنْ وَلَّى فَارًّا مُنْهَزِمًا، وَهُوَ الَّذِي يَقُولُ: وَلَسْنَا عَلَى الْأَدْبَارِ تَدْمَى كُلُومُنَا وَلَكِنْ عَلَى أَقْدَامِنَا يَقْطُرُ الدَّمُ تِسْعَةُ نَفَرٍ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُرْوَى: لَسْنَا عَلَى الْأَعْقَابِ. وَخَالِدُ بْنُ الْأَعْلَمِ، مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ، وَيُقَالُ: عُقَيْلِيٌّ
Translation
✧ [From Banū Asad and their allies among the captives of Quraysh on the day of Badr] And from Banū Asad b. ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā b. Quṣayy: al-Sāʾib b. Abī Ḥubaysh b. al-Muṭṭalib b. Asad; and al-Ḥuwayrith b. ʿAbbād b. ʿUthmān b. Asad. Ibn Hishām said: He is al-Ḥārith b. ʿĀʾidh b. ʿUthmān b. Asad. Ibn Isḥāq said: And Sālim b. Shammākh, an ally of theirs. Three persons. [From Banū Makhzūm] And from Banū Makhzūm b. Yaqaẓah b. Murrah: Khālid b. Hishām b. al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and Umayyah b. Abī Ḥudhayfah b. al-Mughīrah; and al-Walīd b. al-Walīd b. al-Mughīrah; and ʿUthmān b. ʿAbd Allāh b. al-Mughīrah b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and Ṣayfī b. Abī Rifāʿah b. ʿĀbid b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and Abū al-Mundhir b. Abī Rifāʿah b. ʿĀbid b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and Abū ʿAṭāʾ ʿAbd Allāh b. Abī al-Sāʾib b. ʿAbd Allāh b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and al-Muṭṭalib b. Ḥanṭab b. al-Ḥārith b. ʿUbayd b. ʿUmar b. Makhzūm; and Khālid b. al-Aʿlam, an ally of theirs. He was — as they mention — the first to turn in flight, and he is the one who says: We are not ones whose wounds bleed on our backs, But on our feet the blood drips. Nine persons. Ibn Hishām said: It is also narrated: "We are not ones on the heels." And Khālid b. al-Aʿlam is from Khuzāʿah, and it is said: ʿUqaylī.
