The sending of the Prophet and the prophecies of Saṭīḥ and Shiqq

✧ [Poetry by al-Aʿshā concerning the prophecy of Saṭīḥ and Shiqq] Ibn Isḥāq said: Al-Aʿshā, the Aʿshā of Banū Qays b. Thaʿlabah, said concerning the occurrence of what Saṭīḥ and his companion had said: No owner of eyelids ever looked as she looked, Truly, as al-Dhiʾbī spoke truth when he cooed. The Arabs used to call Saṭīḥ "al-Dhiʾbī," because he was Saṭīḥ b. Rabīʿah b. Masʿūd b. Māzin b. Dhiʾb. Ibn Hishām said: This verse is in a qaṣīdah of his.
