Translation
✧ [The stone that was found in Yemen] Ibn Isḥāq said: There was in a stone in Yemen—as they allege, a writing—in the Zabūr script, written in the first age: “To whom does the dominion of Dhimār belong? To Ḥimyar the good. To whom does the dominion of Dhimār belong? To the Abyssinians the evil. To whom does the dominion of Dhimār belong? To Persia the noble. To whom does the dominion of Dhimār belong? To Quraysh the merchants.” Dhimār is Yemen or Ṣanʿāʾ. Ibn Hishām said: Dhamār, with fatḥa, according to what Yūnus informed me.
