Zaynab's departure to Madinah
خُرُوجُ زَيْنَبَ إلَى الْمَدِينَةِ [ تَأَهُّبُهَا وَإِرْسَالُ الرَّسُولِ رَجُلَيْنِ لِيَصْحَبَاهَا ] ( قَالَ ): وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَدْ أَخَذَ عَلَيْهِ، أَوْ وَعَدَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ ذَلِكَ، أَنْ يُخَلِّيَ سَبِيلَ زَيْنَبَ إلَيْهِ، أَوْ كَانَ فِيمَا شَرَطَ عَلَيْهِ فِي إطْلَاقِهِ، وَلَمْ يَظْهَرْ ذَلِكَ مِنْهُ وَلَا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَيُعْلَمُ مَا هُوَ، إلَّا أَنَّهُ لَمَّا خَرَجَ أَبُو الْعَاصِ إلَى مَكَّةَ وَخُلِّيَ سَبِيلُهُ، بَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ زَيْدَ بْنَ حَارِثَةَ وَرَجُلًا مِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ مَكَانَهُ، فَقَالَ: كُونَا بِبَطْنِ يَأْجَجَ حَتَّى تَمُرَّ بِكُمَا زَيْنَبُ، فَتَصْحَبَاهَا حَتَّى تَأْتِيَانِي بِهَا. فَخَرَجَا مَكَانَهُمَا، وَذَلِكَ بَعْدَ بَدْرٍ بِشَهْرِ أَوْ شَيْعِهِ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ أَبُو الْعَاصِ مَكَّةَ أَمَرَهَا بِاللُّحُوقِ بِأَبِيهَا، فَخَرَجَتْ تَجَهَّزَ.
Translation
✧ ZAYNAB'S DEPARTURE FOR MADINAH [HER PREPARATION AND THE MESSENGER'S SENDING OF TWO MEN TO ACCOMPANY HER] (He said): And the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had taken it upon him, or the Messenger of Allah ﷺ promised that, that he would set free Zaynab's way to him, or it was among what he stipulated upon him in releasing him, and that did not become apparent from him nor from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ so that it might be known what it was, except that when Abu al-ʿAṣ went out to Makkah and his way was set free, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent Zayd b. Ḥārithah and a man from the Anṣār in his place, and said: Be in the interior of Yaʾjaj until Zaynab passes by you, then accompany her until you bring her to me. So the two of them went out to their place, and that was a month after Badr or close to it. When Abu al-ʿAṣ arrived in Makkah, he commanded her to join her father, so she went out making preparations.
