Abū Jahl's Seeking Judgment through Supplication

Translation

✧ [Abū Jahl's seeking decision by supplication] Ibn Isḥāq said: Muḥammad b. Muslim b. Shihāb al-Zuhrī related to me, from ʿAbd Allāh b. Thaʿlabah b. Ṣuʿayr al-ʿUdhrī, an ally of Banū Zuhrah, that he related to him: that when the people met, and drew near to one another, Abū Jahl b. Hishām said: "O God, the one among us who has cut kinship ties and brought us what is unrecognized, destroy him this morning." He was the one seeking the decision by supplication.
