The Departure of Quraysh
Translation
✧ [The conversion of Ibn Hizam] When the people dismounted, a group of Quraysh approached until they reached the watering-place of the Messenger of God ﷺ, among them Hakim b. Hizam. The Messenger of God ﷺ said: "Leave them." No man drank from it that day except he was killed, except what was the case with Hakim b. Hizam, for he was not killed. Then he converted after that, and his conversion was excellent. When he exerted himself in an oath, he would say: "No, by the One who saved me on the day of Badr."
