Some accounts of the hypocrites
Translation
✧ Kaʿb's satire against Ibn Ṣayfī: Kaʿb b. Mālik said concerning Abū ʿĀmir for what he had done:: I seek refuge with God from a vile deed like your striving among the clan, ʿAbd ʿAmr. For if you said to me, 'Nobility and palm trees,' then long ago you sold faith for unbelief. Ibn Hishām said: And it is recited: 'For if you said to me, Nobility and wealth.' Ibn Isḥāq said: As for ʿAbd Allāh b. Ubayy, he remained upon his nobility among his people, wavering, until Islam overcame him, and he entered it unwillingly.
