The truth of the prophecies of Saṭīḥ and Shiqq
[ صِدْقُ كَهَانَةِ سَطِيحٍ وَشِقٍّ ] قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: فَهَذَا الَّذِي عَنَى سَطِيحٌ الْكَاهِنُ بِقَوْلِهِ: لَيَهْبِطَنَّ أَرْضَكُمْ الْحَبَشُ، فَلَيَمْلِكُنَّ مَا بَيْنَ أَبْيَنَ إلَى جُرَشَ. وَاَلَّذِي عَنَى شِقٌّ الْكَاهِنُ بِقَوْلِهِ: لَيَنْزِلَنَّ أَرْضَكُمْ السُّودَانُ، فَلَيَغْلِبُنَّ عَلَى كُلِّ طِفْلَةٍ الْبَنَانَ، وَلَيَمْلِكُنَّ مَا بَيْنَ أَبْيَنَ إلَى نَجْرَانَ
Translation
✧ [ The truth of the soothsaying of Saṭīḥ and Shiqq ] Ibn Hishām said: This is what Saṭīḥ the soothsayer meant by his saying: The Abyssinians will certainly descend upon your land, and they will certainly rule what lies between Abyan and Jurash. And this is what Shiqq the soothsayer meant by his saying: The blacks will certainly alight upon your land, and they will certainly overcome every tender one by the fingertips, and they will certainly rule what lies between Abyan and Najrān.
