Abu Karib Tubban As'ad's seizure of the kingship of Yemen [and his expedition to Yathrib], and the return of all the kingship of Yemen to Hassan b. Tubban As'ad Abu Karib
اسْتِيلَاءُ أَبِي كَرِبٍ تُبَّانَ أَسْعَدَ عَلَى مَلِكِ الْيَمَنِ [ وَغَزْوِهِ إلَى يَثْرِبَ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: فَلَمَّا هَلَكَ رَبِيعَةُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ رَجَعَ مُلْكُ الْيَمَنِ كُلُّهُ إلَى حَسَّانِ بْنِ تُبَّانَ أَسْعَدَ أَبِي كَرِبٍ - وَتُبَّانُ أَسْعَدُ هُوَ تُبَّعٌ الْآخِرُ - ابْنُ كُلِي كَرِبِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، وَزَيْدٌ هُوَ تُبَّعٌ الْأَوَّلُ بْنُ عَمْرِو ذِي الْأَذْعَارِ بْنِ أَبْرَهَةَ ذِي الْمَنَارِ بْنِ الرِّيشِ - قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: وَيُقَالُ الرَّائِشُ - قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: ابْنَ عَدِيِّ بْنِ صَيْفِيِّ بْنِ سَبَأٍ الْأَصْغَرِ بْنِ كَعْبٍ، كَهْفِ الظُّلْمِ، بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ سَهْلِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ جُشَمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ شَمْسِ بْنِ وَائِلِ بْنِ الْغَوْثِ بْنِ قَطَنِ بْنِ عَرِيبِ بْنِ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ أَيْمَنَ بْنِ الهُمَيْسِعِ بْنِ العَرَنجَج، والعَرَنْجَجُ: حِمْيَرُ بْنُ سَبَأٍ الْأَكْبَرِ بْنِ يَعْرُبَ بْنِ يَشْجُبَ بْنِ قَحْطَانَ. قَالَ ابْنُ هِشَامٍ: يَشْجُبُ: ابْنُ يَعْرُبَ بْنِ قَحْطَانَ.
Translation
✧ The takeover by Abi Karib Tubbaʿ Asʿad of the kingship of Yemen [and his expedition to Yathrib], and the return of the entire kingship of Yemen to Hassan b. Tubbaʿ Asʿad Abi Karib. Ibn Ishaq said: When Rabiʿah b. Nasr perished, the entire kingship of Yemen returned to Hassan b. Tubban Asʿad Abi Karib — and Tubban Asʿad is the latter Tubbaʿ — son of Kuli Karib b. Zayd, and Zayd is the first Tubbaʿ, son of ʿAmr Dhu al-Adhʿar b. Abrahah Dhu al-Manar b. al-Rish — Ibn Hisham said: and he is called al-Raʾish — Ibn Ishaq said: son of ʿAdiyy b. Sayfiyy b. Sabaʾ al-Asghar b. Kaʿb, Kahf al-Zulm, b. Zayd b. Sahl b. ʿAmr b. Qays b. Muʿawiyah b. Jusham b. ʿAbd Shams b. Waʾil b. al-Ghawth b. Qatan b. ʿArib b. Zuhayr b. Ayman b. al-Humaysiʿ b. al-ʿAranjaj, and al-ʿAranjaj is Himyar b. Sabaʾ al-Akbar b. Yaʿrub b. Yashjub b. Qahtan. Ibn Hisham said: Yashjub: son of Yaʿrub b. Qahtan.
