al-Muṭṭalib's Administration of the Rifādah and Siqāyah
Translation
✧ [Al-Muṭṭalib's assumption of ar-Rifādah and as-Siqāyah] Ibn Isḥāq said: Then Hāshim b. ʿAbd Manāf died in Ghazzah in the land of Syria as a merchant, and al-Muṭṭalib b. ʿAbd Manāf took charge of the siqāyah and the rifādah after him. He was younger than ʿAbd Shams and Hāshim, and he possessed nobility among his people and excellence. The Quraysh used to call him al-Fayḍ on account of his generosity and excellence.
