Those who stayed behind from Hunayn and al-Ta'if
[ الْمُتَخَلِّفُونَ عَنْ حُنَيْنٍ وَالطَّائِفِ ] وَلَمْ يَشْهَدْ حُنَيْنًا وَلَا حِصَارَ الطَّائِفِ عُرْوَةُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، وَلَا غَيْدَنُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، كَانَا بِجُرَشَ يَتَعَلَّمَانِ صَنْعَةَ الدَّبَّابَاتِ وَالْمَجَانِيقِ وَالضُّبُورِ
Translation
✧ [Those who stayed behind from Hunayn and al-Taʾif] ʿUrwah b. Masʿūd did not witness Hunayn nor the siege of al-Taʾif, nor did Ghaydan b. Salamah. They were at Jurash learning the craft of the dabābat (testudos), mangonels, and ḍubūr.
