The expedition of al-Ta'if
ذِكْرُ غَزْوَةِ الطَّائِفِ بَعْدَ حُنَيْنٍ فِي سَنَةِ ثَمَانٍ [ فُلُولُ ثَقِيفٍ ] وَلَمَّا قَدِمَ فَلُّ ثَقِيفٍ الطَّائِفَ أَغْلَقُوا عَلَيْهِمْ أَبْوَابَ مَدِينَتِهَا، وَصَنَعُوا الصَّنَائِعَ لِلْقِتَالِ.
Translation
✧ Mention of the expedition of al-Ṭāʾif after Ḥunayn in the year eight [the remnants of Thaqīf]. When the remnant of Thaqīf arrived at al-Ṭāʾif, they shut the gates of their city upon them, and they made preparations for fighting.
