Naming those who were martyred on the day of Hunayn
[ تَسْمِيَةُ مَنْ اُسْتُشْهِدَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ ] قَالَ ابْنُ إسْحَاقَ: وَهَذِهِ تَسْمِيَةُ مَنْ اُسْتُشْهِدَ يَوْمَ حُنَيْنٍ مِنْ الْمُسْلِمِينَ. مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ثُمَّ مِنْ بَنِي هَاشِمٍ: أَيْمَنُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ. وَمِنْ بَنِي أَسَدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعُزَّى: يَزِيدُ بْنُ زَمَعَةَ بْنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَسَدٍ، جَمَحَ بِهِ فَرَسٌ لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهُ الْجَنَاحُ، فَقُتِلَ. وَمِنْ الْأَنْصَارِ: سُرَاقَةُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَدِيٍّ، مِنْ بَنِي الْعَجْلَانِ. وَمِنْ الْأَشْعَرِيِّينَ: أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْأَشْعَرِيُّ. [ جَمْعُ سَبَايَا حُنَيْنٍ ] ثُمَّ جُمِعَتْ إلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ سَبَايَا حُنَيْنٍ وَأَمْوَالُهَا، وَكَانَ عَلَى الْمَغَانِمِ مَسْعُودُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْغِفَارِيُّ، وَأَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ بِالسَّبَايَا وَالْأَمْوَالِ إلَى الْجِعْرَانَةِ، فَحُبِسَتْ بِهَا
Translation
✧ [Naming those who were martyred on the day of Hunayn] Ibn Isḥāq said: This is the naming of those who were martyred on the day of Ḥunayn among the Muslims. From Quraysh, then from Banū Hāshim: Ayman b. ʿUbayd. From Banū Asad b. ʿAbd al-ʿUzzā: Yazīd b. Zamaʿa b. al-Aswad b. al-Muṭṭalib b. Asad—a horse of his called al-Janāḥ bolted with him, and he was killed. From the Anṣār: Surāqa b. al-Ḥārith b. ʿAdī, from Banū al-ʿAjlān. From the Ashʿarīs: Abū ʿĀmir al-Ashʿarī. [Gathering the captives of Ḥunayn] Then the captives of Ḥunayn and its wealth were gathered to the Messenger of God ﷺ, and Masʿūd b. ʿAmr al-Ghifārī was in charge of the spoils. The Messenger of God ﷺ commanded that the captives and the wealth be taken to al-Jiʿrāna, and they were held there.
