Remove sins from the worshipper by virtue of the Chosen One, ﷺ .

أَخْبَرَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعِجْلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بِلَالٍ عَنْ شَرِيكِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي نَمِرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ يَقُولُ

دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ مِنْ بَابٍ كَأَنَّ رَجَاءَهُ الْمِنْبَرُ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الْمَوَاشِي وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ لِيُغِيثُنَا فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا اللَّهُمَّ اسْقِنَا» قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَاللَّهِ مَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ سَحَابَةً وَلَا قَزَعَةً بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ سَلْعٍ مِنْ بَيْتٍ وَلَا دَارٍ فَطَلَعَتْ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ تُرْسٍ فَلَمَّا تَوَسَّطَتِ السَّمَاءَ انْتَشَرَتْ ثُمَّ أَمْطَرَتْ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا الشَّمْسَ سِتًّا ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْبَابِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ الْمُقْبِلَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَخْطُبُ فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الْأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ فَادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَكُفَّهَا عَنَّا فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ «اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلَا عَلَيْنَا اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الْآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَالْأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ» قَالَ فَأَقْلَعَتْ وَخَرَجَ ﷺ يَمْشِي فِي الشَّمْسِ فَسَأَلْتُ أَنَسًا أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ الْأَوَّلُ؟ قَالَ لَا أَدْرِي

✧ A man entered the mosque on Friday through a door facing the pulpit while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon. He stood facing him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, the livestock have perished and the roads are cut off. Supplicate to Allah to send us rain.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hand and said, “O Allah, give us rain. O Allah, give us rain.” Anas said, “By Allah, we saw no cloud in the sky, not even a small patch, between us and Sal' mountain, no house or dwelling. Then a cloud like a shield appeared from behind it. When it reached the middle of the sky, it spread and then rained. By Allah, we did not see the sun for six days.” Then on the following Friday, a man entered through the same door while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was delivering the sermon. He stood facing him and said, “O Messenger of Allah, the wealth has been destroyed and the roads are cut off. Supplicate to Allah to hold it back from us.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ raised his hands and said, “O Allah, around us and not upon us. O Allah, upon the hills, the rocky outcrops, the valleys, and the places where trees grow.” Anas said, “Then it stopped, and he ﷺ went out walking in the sunshine.” I asked Anas, “Was it the same man as the first time?” He said, “I do not know.”
