أَخْبَرَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بِسْطَامٍ بِالْأُبُلَّةِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ كُرَيْبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَالِدٍ الْأَحْمَرُ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ

كَانَتْ نَاقَةُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ الْعَضْبَاءُ لَا تُسْبَقُ كُلَّمَا سَابَقُوهَا سَبَقَتْ فَجَاءَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ عَلَى قَعُودٍ فَسَابَقَهَا فَسَبَقَهَا فَاشْتَدَّ ذَلِكَ عَلَى أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ حَتَّى رَأَى ذَلِكَ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ فقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «حَقٌّ عَلَى اللَّهِ أَنْ لَا يَرْتَفِعَ شَيْءٌ مِنْ هَذِهِ الْقَذِرَةِ إِلَّا وَضَعَهَا اللَّهُ»

✧ The she-camel of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, al-Adba, was never outstripped. Whenever they raced her, she won. A Bedouin came on a young camel and raced her, and he beat her. That weighed heavily on the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he saw it in their faces. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'It is incumbent upon Allah that nothing of this filthy world is raised but that Allah lowers it.'
