Sahih Ibn Hibban 70

✧ The admonition to prevent reliance on the writings of a person without preserving them

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مَوْلَى ثَقِيفٍ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الدُّورِيُّ حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«مَفَاتِيحُ الْغَيْبِ خَمْسٌ لَا يَعْلَمُ مَا تَضَعُ الْأَرْحَامُ أَحَدٌ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي غَدٍ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَتَى يَأْتِي الْمَطَرُ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَلَا تَدْرِي نَفْسٌ بِأَيِّ أَرْضٍ تَمُوتُ وَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَتَى تَقُومُ السَّاعَةَ»

Translation

✧ "The keys of the unseen are five: no one knows what the wombs will bring forth except Allah; no one knows what will be tomorrow except Allah; no one knows when the rain will come except Allah; no soul knows in which land it will die; and no one knows when the Hour will arise."
