✧ The admonition to prevent reliance on the writings of a person without preserving them

أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ خُزَيْمَةَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعِجْلِيُّ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ عَنْ سِمَاكٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ يَقُولُ

«نَضَّرَ اللَّهُ امْرَأً سَمِعَ مِنَّا حَدِيثًا فَبَلَّغَهُ كَمَا سَمِعَهُ فَرُبَّ مُبَلَّغٍ أَوْعَى مِنْ سَامِعٍ»

✧ "May Allah brighten a person who hears a hadith from us and conveys it as he heard it, for perhaps the one to whom it is conveyed is more retentive than the one who heard it."
