✧ Abu Talhah said to Umm Sulaym, "I have heard the voice of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ weak, and I recognize hunger in it. Do you have anything?" She said, "Yes," and brought out some barley cakes. Then she took a headscarf of hers and wrapped the bread in part of it, then tucked it under my arm, and covered me with the rest. She sent me to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. He said: I went with it and found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sitting in the mosque with the people around him. I stood over them, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Did Abu Talhah send you?" He said: I said, "Yes." He said, "For food?" I said, "Yes." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to those with him, "Arise." They went, and I went ahead of them until I came to Abu Talhah and told him. Abu Talhah said, "O Umm Sulaym, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has come with the people, and we do not have enough food for them." She said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." Abu Talhah went until he met the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came forward with him until they entered. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Bring what you have, O Umm Sulaym." She brought that bread, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded it to be crumbled. Umm Sulaym squeezed a skin of ghee over it, making it a relish. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said over it whatever Allah willed him to say. Then he said, "Give permission to ten." He gave them permission, and they ate until satisfied, then left. Then he said, "Give permission to ten." He gave them permission, and they ate until satisfied, then left. Then he said, "Give permission to ten." He gave them permission, and they ate until satisfied, then left. Then he said, "Give permission to ten," until all the people had eaten and were satisfied. The people were seventy or eighty men.
