✧ Three days passed over me during which I did not eat any food. I came intending the Suffah and began to fall down. Children started shouting, "Abu Hurayrah has gone mad." I began calling to them, "Rather, you are the mad ones," until we reached the Suffah. I found the Messenger of Allah ﷺ being brought a bowl of tharid, and he called the People of the Suffah to it, and they ate from it. I kept stretching out hoping he would call me, until the people stood up and there was nothing left in the bowl except a little in its sides. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ gathered it and it became a single morsel. He placed it on his fingers, then said to me, "Eat in the name of Allah." By the One in whose hand is my soul, I did not stop eating from it until I was full.
