✧ The Virtue of Jihad

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ الْمِصِّيصِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ قَعْنَبٍ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ

«حُرْمَةُ نِسَاءِ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ عَلَى الْقَاعِدِينَ كَأُمَّهَاتِهِمْ وَمَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ مِنَ الْقَاعِدِينَ يَخْلُفُ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُجَاهِدِينَ إِلَّا نُصِبَ لَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَيُقَالُ يَا فُلَانُ هَذَا فُلَانٌ فَخُذْ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ مَا شِئْتَ» ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ إِلَى أَصْحَابِهِ فَقَالَ «فَمَا ظَنُّكُمْ مَا أَرَى يَدَعُ مِنْ حَسَنَاتِهِ شَيْئًا»

✧ «The sanctity of the wives of the mujahidin upon those who remain behind is like that of their mothers. And no man among those who remain behind stays behind for a man among the mujahidin except that it is set up for him on the Day of Resurrection, and it is said: O so-and-so, this is so-and-so, so take from his good deeds whatever you wish.» Then he turned to his companions and said, «What do you think? I do not think he will leave anything of his good deeds.»
