✧ While Abū al-Dardāʾ was one day traveling alone from the army, he met two men who were alone from the army. He said, “O you two, whenever three are in a place like this they are given a commander, so let one of you take command.” They said, “You, O Abū al-Dardāʾ.” He said, “Rather you two. I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, ‘There is no ruler of three except that he will meet Allah with his right hand fettered. His justice will release it, or his injustice will keep it fettered.’”
