✧ We came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was resting his head on a cloak in the shade of the Ka'bah. We had encountered severe hardship from the polytheists. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, will you not supplicate to Allah for us?' He sat up angry, his face red, and said, 'Those before you would be asked to renounce their faith, and they would not do so. A saw would be placed on his head and he would be split into two, yet that would not turn him away from his religion. One of them would be combed with iron combs, tearing the flesh and sinews from his bones, yet that would not turn him away from his religion. But you are hasty. Allah will surely complete this matter until a rider travels from San'a' to Hadramawt fearing none but Allah and the wolf for his sheep.'
